MTM Cohort AY2025/26 Kicks Off
with Summer BBQ Night 🌙🔥
The new academic year began not just with lectures and briefings, but with a warm and lively Summer BBQ Night – the very first cohesion event for the incoming Master of Science in Maritime Technology and Management (MTM) students.
📅 When & Where
On Thursday, 28 August 2025, students gathered at Jurong SAFRA for an evening of food, games, and community. Organised by the 5th MTM Student Council, the event provided a relaxed and engaging platform for the new cohort to connect with their peers and seniors.
🍴 Fun, Food & Friends
The night featured an all-you-can-eat BBQ, complemented by drinks and snacks. Beyond the food, the highlight was the chance for students to get to know one another, building the friendships and networks that will support them throughout the programme.
🎲 Games & Icebreakers
A series of interactive games—including icebreakers, trust-building activities, and fun challenges—kept the energy high and encouraged collaboration among students. Laughter and friendly competition quickly broke down barriers and set the tone for future teamwork.
👥 Special Guests: Meet the Seniors
The event also welcomed returning MTM alumni and seniors, including Mr. Phang Fu Chun, former Student Council President and current Product Manager at the Singapore Maritime Institute, and many others! Their presence gave the new batch a valuable opportunity to hear personal experiences and gain insights about student life and professional development.

The Summer BBQ Night successfully brought together the MTM community—new students, seniors, and alumni alike—in a spirit of camaraderie and support. It was more than just an evening of fun; it marked the start of a meaningful journey of shared learning, collaboration, and lifelong friendships.
